V-CROSS!

Today was a mad day in Londontown! It would have fulfilled any vegan’s dream. Well, this vegan’s dream, anyway. And it’s finally coming true!!! AHABSFHJNSLGNLSA!!!!!!! Now that I’m a London girl, I can explore its vegan community as much and as sloooowly as I want. That hasn’t quite settled in yet (as illustrated below). Aaaanyway, it’s now waaayyyy past midnight in jolly old England, so let’s recap this day swiftly. (more…)

Childhood

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!! It’s Christmastime! This means two things: cookies and…..wait for it……do you know what I’m ’bout to say?…..Mariah Carey! Please get your festive pants on and dance around the kitchen with me to this EXTENDED VERSION of Mizz Diva’s holiday classic! You’d better believe that I am partaking in a bit of Mariah Carey-oke right now. I sincerely hope you are too.

Tonight is the night that I share with you a veganised version of my favourite, favourite, favourite Christmas cookies! You’re so excited, I can tell! This was my first time baking these since becoming vegan. They turned out quite well and were delicious, but not quite where I wanted the texture to be. The music would stop, a number would be drawn, and if the drawn number matched up with the square you landed on, you got to choose a cake! WOOOO! So delightful!

Over the years “Cakewalk” has become a term meaning easy or effortless. Let me tell you, friends, making this cake was no cakewalk. (more…)

Pan Thai

Welcome to the Remembrance Day edition of The Vegan Butcher! Let me start by saying how big a part of my life the armed forces are. I have friends in all branches of the military, in countries all over the world. My father currently serves in the Canadian Air Force and has for nearly 30 years. I am a military brat through and through and my life is richer for it. I hope you all remembered our past today and support our present everyday! Lest we forget. (more…)
